The Cold Drawing Process

The process of cold drawing is a procedure by which steel profiles are formed in order to achieve complex  cross sections of excellent precision.

The process begins with hot-rolled steel from the mill. After it cools, the steel is put through a shot blaster to clean the surface of any scale or rust, then pushed through a stationary die. After that, the steel travels through straightening processes while testing is done to make sure any surface defects are discovered and sorted out. Then shearers cut the bars of steel to the desired size and thickness.

Once the cold working has been completed, the steel is put through an annealing furnace to achieve the hardness and strength required for the industry and by the customer.
